- I.Everyone who lives in the housing units is responsible for ensuring quiet and order to lay the foundation fora pleasant home. The custodian’s instructions, which are based on the rental contract, the decisions of the board and these rules for domestic order, must be followed.
- Noise and disturbances between 2300 hrs and 0700 hrs must be avoided. Using the radio or play ing musical instruments must be arranged sothat it does not disturb other tenants. Music practice is only permitted between 0800 hrs and 2100 hrs. Music instruction may only be given in the apaitments with special perm iss ion and the consent of the tenants in the apartments above, below and next to the apaitment where such instruction will take place.
- Bicycles, baby carriages/prams, sleds etc must be stored in rooms setaside for this purpose. Fuel is to be stored in the fuel storage lockers only, and care should be taken to avoid dirtying the hallways and stairways while transpo1ting fuel, or to clean up the di1t immediately after transport.
- The stairs are washed once each week by hired help. The windows, walls and ceilings in the stairways are washed as pait of our community work project each spring. This also applies for common rooms and hallways in the attic and basement. In addition, tenants are responsible for
keeping their own storage lockers and apaitments clean. It is not permitted to sh(lke jloor rugs etc off the b(l/co11ies. - Washing machines and turnbie dryers (situated in the basements of Jonsvannsveien 93A and l05A, and Balders vei 3C) must be used with care and only according to directions. Damage that results from cai·eless use is the financial responsibil ity of the person who caused the damage. Normal operating costs for the laundry rooms are divided among the tenants. (lfter use. It should be of the interest of al I the tenants to keep the laundry rooms clean and tidy.
Dripping wet clothing must not be hung in the attic. Clothes hung to dry outdoors should only be hung in ai·eas set as ide for this purpose. Clothing should not be lefl to /t(l11g outdoors 011 Su11days a11d
/10/idays, including J51 and 11″ of May. 6. Newspapers and other objects likely to clog the pipes, must not be flushed down the toilet. 7. Day-to-day maintenance in the apartments, such as changing washers, replacing switches and
maintain ing the cooking units, room heaters, water heaters etc, is the responsibil ity of the residents of the apaitment, as detailed in the rental contract. 8. For practical reasons, maintenance of floors and doors is the responsibil ity of the tenants. Floor wax and laquer can be obtained free of charge from the custodian’s office*, where the tenants can also
bo1rnw floor cleaning equipment. It is required that the floors be properly maintained at all times, so that large repair jobs can be avoided. Residents should especially be aware that use of stiletto heels are prohibited, and that residents, when moving out, will be held financially responsible for permanent
damage to the apaitment floors.
